The Duoderm

Doing some more animal anatomy studies. I going through a book that I have of animals and I study the actual animal, then based or inspired by the anatomy create a creature! It is a good exercise and practice of real and imagined. Understanding the actual animal just makes your designs more believable.
This is the Duoderm (based upon more of an Indian elephant than African) I combined the silhouette of both species of elephant with the back (it is curved but also slanting downward)
Very fun to do create this piece. I tried a technique that Terryl Whitlatch does to create her creatures and so far I like it!!

Having fun!

Here are some fun drawings that I have done recently, always playing with different forms to get some fun characters! The shark was done on cardboard with marker, and the tiger was done digitally.
